Warranty Policy
Ocean Air Marine supplies commercial refrigeration, marine refrigeration and air conditioning equipment sourced from trusted manufacturers. This Warranty Policy outlines the coverage,
exclusions and procedures for warranty claims.
All products sold by Ocean Air Marine are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty,
in accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Warranty terms vary depending on the product type, brand, and installation conditions.
Where a product fault occurs, Ocean Air Marine will assist in facilitating the warranty process with the manufacturer or supplier.
Standard Warranty Coverage
Air Conditioning Units
· All split-system and ducted air conditioning systems include a 5-year manufacturer warranty (domestic & light commercial use).
· Warranty validity requires:
o Installation by a licensed HVAC-R technician
o Compliance with Australian standards
o Proof of installation
o Completion of manufacturer registration (if required)
Refrigeration Components & Controls
Most refrigeration parts are covered under the manufacturer’s standard warranty, typically between 12–24 months, depending on the brand.
Electrical Components
Warranty on electrical components applies only after manufacturer inspection and approval.
Electrical items must be installed by a licensed technician.
No refund or replacement will be issued until the supplier has assessed the item.
Motors & Fans
Covered by manufacturer warranty fordefects in materials or workmanship.
Incorrect voltage usage, wiring issues or mechanical damage are not covered.
Tools & Equipment
Tools and instruments are covered under each manufacturer’s warranty terms.
Consumables — No Warranty
Consumable items do not carry any warranty unless required by law.
This includes:
· Tapes & adhesives
· Sealants
· Cleaning chemicals & aerosols
· Oils & fluids
· PPE
· Fasteners
· Packaging
· Any product designed to be used up,depleted or discarded through normal use
What Is Not Covered
Warranty does not cover damage caused by:
· Incorrect installation or commissioning
· Misuse, neglect or improper handling
· Failure to follow manufacturer instructions
· Contamination, moisture or corrosion caused by environment
· Normal wear and tear
· Modifications, tampering or unauthorised repairs
· Power surges, incorrect voltage, blowncapacitors or electrical faults external to the product
· Refrigerant leaks caused by poor installation practices
· Damage during transport or return shipping due to poor packaging
Warranty Claim Requirements
To submit a warranty claim, you must provide:
· Proof of purchase
· Installation details (technician name, licence number)
· Model and serial numbers (if applicable)
· Photos or videos showing the fault
· Description of the issue
· For electrical items: results of technician diagnosis
Manufacturers may request additionalinformation for assessment.
Assessment & Approval
Once a warranty claim is lodged:
1. The product may be inspected by Ocean Air Marine or directly by the manufacturer.
2. The manufacturer will determine whether the issue is a manufacturing defect or non-warranty issue.
3.If approved, the supplier will provide:
o Repair,
o Replacement, or
o Credit/refund (depending on their policy).
Ocean Air Marine cannot override manufacturer decisions.
Return. Freight & Labour Costs
· Customers are responsible for shippingcosts when returning items for assessment, unless required by ACL.
· Labour costs for removal or reinstallation are not covered unless stated by the manufacturer.
· Some manufacturers require the faulty component to be returned before issuing a replacement.
Major Failures (Australian Consumer Law)
Under ACL, you are entitled to a replacement or refund if the product has a major failure, or compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
A product failure is considered major when it:
· Is unsafe
· Has a problem that would have stopped you buying it if known beforehand
· Is significantly different from its description
· Cannot be repaired within a reasonabletimeframe
· Is substantially unfit for purpose and cannot be easily fixed
These rights apply in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty.
